Bald Eagle       I took this picture while on a Cisco fishing trip at Bear lake, Utah. The following August I put it in the Cache County Fair. There it received 1st place, as well as Best of Show 1990.

I also sent it into “Photographers Forum” for their annual contest. Out of 28,000 entries from throughout the world, mine was in the top7%. With that distinction it was printed as an honorable mention in “The Best of Photography 1990” printed by “Photographers Forum” and distributed world wide.      Not too bad for a Cache Valley boy!

Salt Lake, UtahThis beautiful Picture of the Salt Lake Utah LDS Temple is another award winning shot. I put it in the Cache County Fair , and it won 1st place, and Best of Show 1994.

I love this shot because of the symbolism it captures. With the reflection, the spires point both up and down. To me that represents eternity.  Now notice the young couple at the base of the Temple. Their silhouette represents mankind at this point in eternity. The Temple to me has always been the gateway to eternal life. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.   "For behold, this is my work and my glory — to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man".       Moses 1:39,

Hawaii theam Walking stick

This is a view of a walking stick I carved out of a branch of my apple tree. I put in the Cache County Fair 2010 where it was awarded a second place.

Here the bed is back home after the Cache County and Utah State Fairs. It was show it off but at the moment it is good to have it home again. All is right with the world. one of these days I'll actually sleep in it.

The North Star
The North Star The four corner posts of my bed were cut high in the Unita Mountains, on Ute Indian land. They have been blessed, and the spirit of the tree calmed by a Medicine Man.
I think of them as representing the four winds, North, South, East , and West.     As as I sanded the top of this footboard post I found a star in the grain of the wood. I like to think it must be the North Star, pointing to Christ, immoveable, always present in the night sky, and guiding me along the path of life .
When I add up all the things that makes this bed something truly incredible. I can clearly see, and feel, that the Lord's hand is in it's creation. So many things fell into place for me as I was doing it. One of the things that I didn't expect was a closeness that I felt to my Dad and Grandpa. They were both carpenters by trade, and loved the Elk as I do. I felt as though they were there with me, helping, as I carved.
I humbly thank the Lord for the privilege that I could have a part in creating such a beautiful work of art that will be enjoyed for generations.

          My Awards

Too often an Artist isn’t fully appreciated until after they’ve died. I have on occasion put some of my art out there for the world to see and judge. I have been blessed to receive some nice awards for doing so. These are some of those awards that I have received over the years.
